Brooklyn State of Mind

Some tasty places to visit in Williamsburg [Brooklyn, NY]:

Teddy's Bar and Grill. 96 Berry Street (corner of Berry & N8) (718) 384-9787
Great brunch/Bloodies. Huge Portion of Huevos Ranchos, Perfectly seared Steak & Eggs, freshly ground Chicken Burger, and coconut-encrusted "Jamaican French Toast" with maple rum glaze. Plus other standard breakfast/lunch fare.

Brouwerij Lane. 78 Greenpoint Avenue. (347) 529-6133
Small and intimate, with a woodstove heating the space left from the huge coolers stocked full of a collection of craft beer. The walls are adorned with comic strips done by a local cartoonist and are for sale. Stop by on the weekends and get a tray of the 4 freshly-brewed beers made that weekend. Each beer is served on an educational coaster describing the hops and brewery. They change every week so there's always a reason to stop in. Click the on their name to check their website and "what their pouring". Personally, I'd go for the bathroom wallpaper:

Calexico. 122 Union Street. (718) 488-8226
Vendy-award winning, cart-turned-small restaurant empire, Calexico serves fresh, simple, delicious mexican food. Favorites include the 3-salsas app that features regular, lime/cilantro, and pumpkin seed salsas. They're known for their carne asada and notorious "crack sauce" and after this weekend I know why. It's friggin' amazing and I could eat it every day. Tacos, burritos, Tortas (mexican snadwich served on grilled ciabatta), and various meat/chicken/pork plates fill the menu with a good tequila selection as well as full bar. If you can't make it to this one, look for one of their carts throughout the city.
